Social equity  is often seen as  removing barriers to opportunities and inclusive experiences that may lead to unequal outcomes, but all too often, despite blind interviewing, companies end up with individuals who mirror their existing pattern of employees. It's hard to achieve, hard to give a voice to the right people.

Symposium is small enough that when you join, you will be listened to. We understand that nobody is perfect, we understand that gaps in careers or even poor academic results can arise because of external influences, your own bad decisions or simply, sometimes because things have not worked out. If your challenges, your failures have made you stronger as a person, then you're probably a good fit for us.

In life, it  is entirely possible to make all the right decisions and sometimes fail, but as a team, it's also possible to learn from those experiences, to work together and bring these insights to help clients avoid the errors which we have seen.

Almost every company you see will state that they are committed to stand against aggression, injustice, bias, discrimination and racism and Symposium is in agreement with all these principles.

Notwithstanding this, our experience is that on some major issues, these same companies are often hamstrung, whether through investment constraints, cross border trading or a look to very long term relationships. The need to work within a system, rather than stand up to it when it is wrong means that rhetoric often differs from what we see on the ground. 

Strategic objectives and ethical positions are rarely black and white - life is nuanced and therefore what we expect from our staff is discussion as complex events unfurl and the application of both business and emotional intelligence to help steer Symposium and our clients through a changing world.

All staff are screened to BS7858 and must be prepared to undertake any other security vetting as required by our clients.
